Throughout the month of April, artist Amanda Kalinoski will have work on exhibit at the Workshop gallery. Kalinoski is currently an Artist-in-Residence at WSW producing a limited-edition hand printed artists’ book juxtaposing human sexuality and the mating rituals of slugs.
Amanda traveled from Missoula, Montana to WSW to take part in an Art-in-Education residency that annually draws a competitive pool of applicants from across the globe. During this artist opportunity, Amanda worked in WSW’s silkscreen studios with 5th graders from the nearby Kingston School District as they learned new art processes. During her residency, Amanda is also creating a limited edition hand printed artist’s book. Patterned Pleasures, utilizing techniques of silkscreen, magnesium plate letterpress, and handmade paper covers, will be completed over the course of 10 weeks.
