Diane Jacobs is a phenomenal letterpress printer. She came to WSW in 2000 as an artist-in-residence to produce Alphabet Tricks, an accordion book of illustrated image pockets with cards listing words used to denigrate women. She did not know how to do the pocket image part so we worked with her to screen print the pockets the first several weeks. Then she returned to the west coast to do the letterpress printing in her home studio and then returned to WSW to make the cases and an edition of clay pieces. The piece she donated to this year’s auction is in a similar vein. Be sure to blow up the image so you can see the exquisite detail of the printing.
We have 30 gems donated by WSW artist alumnae that would look fabulous hanging on your walls!
