Jeff Shapiro is a neighbor and a good friend of WSW and one of the most important ceramic artists working today. He travels the world exhibiting, and teaching. He was just back from working in India when I visited his studio to pick up this beautiful pot. Jeff spent nine years in Japan learning about wood firing. He fires his 20 foot long anagama kiln in Accord, NY for ten days as many as four times a year.
For this years auction Jeff has donated this beautifully nuanced wood fired ceramic vessel with natural ash glaze. Don’t pass up the chance to own one of his unique pieces!
The bidding has begun! Don’t forget to check in with us over the weekend to see how your favorite pieces of art are doing. We have 30 gems donated by WSW artist alumnae that would look fabulous hanging on your walls!
Remember, every bid you place will will drive us closer toward our fundraising goals. By bidding, you’re directly supporting WSW’s artist residencies and youth art-in-education programming.
