Joy Taylor first came to WSW in 1997 to work in the WSW darkroom. We had seen an installation of dancing mops she had exhibited at SUNY New Paltz the summer before and were intrigued by her work. She exhibits her work regularly, locally at BCB Art in Hudson. While it is true she hooked us up with a load of manure for the ArtFarm, it really had no impact on the jury’s decision to invite her back to be one of the very first Ora Schneider Residency grant recipients. Joy worked in the hand papermaking studio and used the etching presses on a new body of work. She has donated a couple of delicious paintings for you to bid on.
The bidding has begun! Don’t forget to check in with us over the weekend to see how your favorite pieces of art are doing. We have 30 gems donated by WSW artist alumnae that would look fabulous hanging on your walls!
Remember, every bid you place will will drive us closer toward our fundraising goals. By bidding, you’re directly supporting WSW’s artist residencies and youth art-in-education programming.
