This week in the etching studio Kate McQuillen teaches Pressure Monoprinting. The process mixes traditional printing techniques with added soft materials like fabric, string and foliage.
Roberta Ziemba, a student in the class, is inspired to make art based on aspects of her personal life. She adds a diaper to her composition, representing her job as “Mom”:
… and in the paper making studio, the Paper and Place class. Ann Marie Kennedy instructs students to embed foliage and other natural elements into their paper. The studio is filled with bright flowers, subtle branches and unique collage elements, ready to be turned into one-of-a-kind sheets of paper!
