Home WSW’s 40th Anniversary Capital Campaign

Women’s Studio Workshop provides extraordinary opportunities for artistic expression and development for female artists at all stages of their careers. Located in the mid-Hudson Valley of New York, the Workshop is renowned nationally and internationally for its printmaking, book arts, and hand papermaking. Our artists also work in ceramics, photography, sculpture, and multimedia.

2012-Roof-raising.1Demand for more space triggers WSW’s Expansion

We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming and inclusive community. A steady increase in demand for our programs has made it more and more difficult for us to accommodate the numbers of women artists our mission aims to serve.

We’ve been operating at capacity for nearly a decade, making the best use of the three buildings which comprise our Arts Campus. Every available space is fully utilized, from basement to attic.

Our expansion will make it possible to support more artists, nurture their creative energy and share their work with  the world. As a community of women artists, we can’t afford to turn people away.

  • The angel is my watermark

Inspired by Henry Miller’s story The Angel is My Watermark and a 17th century poem the Song of Paper by Father Imberdis, the artist meditates on the emancipation of the watermark.
