Barbara Leoff Burge is an active artist and co-founder of WSW. She studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and has exhibited her work across the U.S. Barbara has taught in a variety of situations ranging from the University classroom, to community art schools, to private instruction.

Teaching in tandem with artmaking is Barbara’s passion, as many of her longtime students will attest. She engages them with enthusiasm and generosity.

Choose from an array of tempting collage techniques using a variety of materials—painting, stamping, rubbing, writing, marking—combining these with pre-made and altered images. Attachment methods will mostly eschew glue in favor of tabs, slits, stitches, patches, pins. Attachments that function aesthetically as well as structurally will be incorporated. Both experienced and beginning collage artists will be welcome.
