Art Administration Internship

Art administration internship

2012 Admin intern Kristen Fleming working with WSW office manager Sandra Brown.

This internship is for people considering a career in arts administration. You will work alongside WSW’s administrative staff attending to the myriad of details that keep an arts organization functioning smoothly.

Typically, projects will include: database management, membership systems, donor and grant research, event planning assistance, writing and distributing press releases, archiving WSW documents, answering the phone, and sending out e-communications. Graphic design and web skills are a plus. Experience with Filemaker Pro, WordPress, InDesign, and Photoshop are beneficial, but not required. Communication skills and phone poise are a must.

The Arts Administration Internship includes a private room in WSW’s on-campus Anne Atwood artist’s housing and a stipend of $250/month. Interns work 40 hours a week, generally M-F, 9-5 pm, but the schedule changes to accommodate the workshop’s schedule. This session can culminate with an exhibition of work created during your stay.
